Terms of Service

Last updated:

1. Acceptance

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of this website and the dock-building, repair, and marine carpentry services offered by Intracoastal Installs LLC (“we,” “us,” or “Intracoastal Installs”). By requesting an estimate, signing a contract, or browsing this site, you agree to these Terms.

2. Estimates

All estimates are free and provided in writing within one business day of the site evaluation. Estimates are valid for 30 days. Material prices can shift in coastal NC — if more than 30 days pass between estimate and contract, we may re-quote based on current marine-grade lumber and stainless hardware costs.

Estimates are not contracts. No work begins until a signed agreement and deposit are in hand.

3. Payment terms

  • Deposit: 30% on signing, before material is ordered.
  • Progress draw: 40% when pilings are driven and the framing is set.
  • Final: 30% on walkthrough and acceptance.
  • Payment by check, ACH, or credit card. Credit card payments incur a 3% processing fee.
  • Past-due balances accrue 1.5% per month after 30 days.

4. Warranty

We back our workmanship for one (1) year from completion. Materials carry their manufacturer’s warranty, which we pass through to you. Storm damage, vessel impact, vandalism, and modifications by other contractors are not covered. Routine wear (bleaching, hairline checking in lumber, hardware patina) is normal and not a defect.

5. Permits and approvals

Most coastal NC docks require a CAMA general permit. We design every build to fit the rules and submit the application on your behalf. The homeowner is responsible for HOA approvals and for any private easements or shared-water-access agreements. Permit fees pass through at cost.

6. Site conditions

You give us reasonable site access during scheduled work hours (Mon–Fri 7am–5pm). If unexpected conditions appear — buried obstacles, soft bottom requiring longer pilings, environmental restrictions — we will stop, document, and provide a written change order before continuing.

7. Liability and insurance

Intracoastal Installs LLC carries general liability and worker’s compensation coverage. We are fully insured for the work we perform. Our maximum liability for any single project shall not exceed the contract value of that project. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages.

8. Force majeure

Hurricanes, named storms, sustained high winds (>25 mph at the site), king tides, supply-chain failures, and government orders may delay work. We will reschedule promptly and communicate timelines. No penalty applies to schedule shifts caused by force majeure.

9. Cancellation

You may cancel a signed contract within 3 business days of signing for a full refund (NC right-of-rescission). After that, the deposit covers materials already ordered and engineering work completed. Mid-project cancellation is settled by paid-to-date plus material restocking fees.

10. Dispute resolution

If a dispute arises, we both agree to attempt resolution by direct discussion first. If that fails, both parties agree to non-binding mediation through a Pender County mediator before any litigation. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina; jurisdiction lies in Pender County Superior Court.

11. Photography and marketing

We may photograph completed work for our portfolio. We do not include identifying information (homeowner names, exact addresses) unless we have written permission. If you prefer your project not be used, tell us in writing before work begins.

12. Changes to terms

We may update these Terms. The version in effect at the time of contract signing governs your project. Updates take effect for new inquiries when the “Last updated” date changes above.
